Thank you for your interest in joining Freedom Tri, Hertfordshire's Friendliest Triathlon club.

We have a huge range of ability in the club from novices to GB age group athletes.

Have a browse round the training pages of our website to see the kind of activities we get up to each week. We try to deliver at least one session in each of the 3 triathlon disciplines. 

Full Membership includes all the regular pool swimming and group swim coaching, cycling, open water and run sessions. From time to time there may be additional costs incurred that will generally be split between those taking part. (For example, in the past we have hired the velodrome at Welwyn for a couple of hours which worked out at £5 per head for those that took part).

There are weekend social bike rides, weather permitting.

In the spring and summer we hold internal club events which are great fun.  These sessions are a 'no cost' way to see how your training has improved your stamina and speed.

We take part in the local winter cross country and summer midweek running leagues. Some members dabble in the local cyclo-cross bike racing scene in the winter and the local bike time trial races in the summer. 

We have members that only take part in single discipline events as well as those who regularly enjoy full triathlons at all distances.

We strongly encourage all our members to join the British Triathlon Federation but it is a mandatory requirement if you want to take part in the Open Water Swimming at our lake venue. The 2022 cost for that is £26.50 for 12 months (or £45 if you go for the race licence option).  

As a member, you can join our Freedom Tri Facebook page where there is plenty of info, updates and chat on what's going on.  (For those not on Facebook, you'll be able to access information and ask questions on the club website forum.)

The club does not have a junior section and is for over 18’s only.
